Welcome to the Terpmode Community Forum for music! We're working really hard to turn this portion of the forum into a valuable resource for student musicians, so make an account and introduce yourselves/brag about how awesome you are! Anyway, I'm Nathan. Or Nate. I play saxophone, piano and a bit of ukulele. I'm primarily a jazz player, but I'm currently looking to get some kind of live hip-hop collective together, something inspired by the likes of Robert Glasper and Soul Cannon. (I'd be playing keys). I'm also into a lot of indie stuff like Broken Social Scene, Modest Mouse, Beirut, S. Carey, Bon Iver, etc. Unfortunately I don't have anything professional sounding along those lines to show ya'll, but to prove that I'm a serious musician, here's a link to a video of me playing saxophone. Hey nice solo. I'm Mason, I play guitar drums bass flute and I sing. I love playing music, I'm a freshmen and honestly I'm going through like music withdraw. In highschool I'd be playing music with different people every day, but I haven't really found many people to play with here yet so I've been just practicing/writing by myself which is fun but doesn't completely satisfy my need to make loud noises. I'll play (or attempt to play) pretty much any genre of music. I'm currently working on a solo project (alternative rock/some obvious punk influences,) and I switch off lead/rhythm guitar for Away Framents (google "Colin Explains Away Fragment's Genre.") Most of us are at different colleges in Maryland so we're still doing shows but less frequently than we have in the past. We don't really have much recent/audible material online right now but we're recording an album, there should be some previews out soon. We're handling all the recording ourselves, I'm doing most of the mixing and mastering. I've been recording/mixing/mastering for a few years I really enjoy the process. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gts8XzPL_9c&feature=plcpwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ygD8ZfviUL0&feature=plcpwww.facebook.com/AwayFragments

Hi. I'm Brandon Choe. I'm a sophomore, majoring in computer engineering. I can't play any instruments, but I produce dance music. So far, I've only done remixes, but all I take from the originals are the vocals, so my stuff is almost original - I'm actually looking for vocalists for some original vocals to work with. Well, here goes: soundcloud.com/brandonchoemusic

Hello, I'm Kai Keefe. I play the flute, guitar, piano, and I sing, and I also write music. I would really like to collaborate with some other musicians here and start up a serious group, as I've been mainly playing by myself since I got here. So, feel free to listen to some of my material, and if you are interested, please let me know! Here is a short collection of some originals that I recorded over the summer. They're all pretty different in terms of style, and a lot of them are kind of experimental, but it should give you an idea of what I do. and the recording quality is not exactly professional... soundcloud.com/kaikeefe/sets/kai-keefe-1 ...and this is a clip of a performance I did last year of Jethro Tull's "Nothing is Easy". (I'm singing and playing the flute). It has kind of a long introduction, but the actual song starts about 1:30 into the video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbiOkXAoYrwAnyway, once again, if you're interested in starting up a band, or you just want to jam sometime, let me know! you can message me, or email me at kaio789@yahoo.com

Kai! Your music is so chill. I dig it!
My name is Deanna. And I am the el Presidente of Terpmode. I like to play the drums and can do a bit of guitar, but not skilled much in either, but I hope in the future someone will buy me a drum set and I can be happy forever. I've always wanted to be in a band but that's not my goal now, maybe I'd just work with a band or two to market them!

Also by the way guys, you can integrate the Youtube links with the icon in the post so people can view the video embedded without going to a separate window.

Whats up I'm Nick, I play guitar, bass, drums, keys but mostly I record stuff and mess around with the production. In the past, I made a rap album with way too many people involved, but it draws on pretty much every style of music there is: thependarcrew.bandcamp.com/album/just-startinghit um. these raps are awesome, nick. I'm assuming you produced them all? It sounds like a similar, bluf-y song I've heard before...

hey guys, my name's david peeler and i love music! Here's my bio from the blog i write for, www.theelectricsqueeze.com: My interest/taste has moved from the now all-popular electro house to classic chicago house / UK bass (future garage / funky) style, usually favoring minimalism over flamboyancy and tight grooves over swirly effects. The music I post won’t necessarily be the newest straight bangers but should reflect some digging for gems from the 90′s with dips into 60′s funk&soul and 70′s disco. I spend too much time looking for music during the week so I’m happy to have an outlet that has such passionate people in its fold. all my edm mixes are now on soundcloud at www.soundcloud.com/davidpeelerall my other mixtapes are now on mixcloud at www.mixcloud.com/djpeelercheck out both if you want to get an idea of my taste, i'm starting a music project soon that will be composed on a variety of instruments and am always down to collaborate with like-minded folks. i have an old lowrey mardi-gras organ, electric and acoustic guitars, a turntable, a tape deck, and a roland sp404 sampler. all of these items will come together (trying to avoid using a computer at all) in whatever i end up making so hit me up if you have some ideas! finally, my favorite band is animal collective and i'm not afraid to admit it. number two is modest mouse.
